I spoke with the ghosts also and it was like everything was lightning and I was lightning and everything I saw was lightning. I am okay but it was very strange.

Shelley gave me a photograph once but she did not say she wanted it back.

It is an image of a woman. It says for a final place on the back.

But we have not found any final place yet.

Shelley's interred at the Columbarium. Could be there. I dunno that we've found anything like a grave for her, otherwise.

I got it from the ruins in the southern caves, which was her final place. I don't understand. We have not reached our final place in this town. Why would a grave be important?

A 'final place' or a 'final resting place' is a euphemism, Ecks. It means a spot to bury or place someone when they die. It's a custom for many humans. You bury the people you love when they die and you come back to that place to remember them and sometimes talk to them if you feel like it. It's a way to have a connection with them, even though they're gone from your life.

That explains why this place has so many graves. Do they usually talk back?

No. It's more about helping the people who're still alive.

How does it help them?

[Christ. This isn't really a conversation he wants to be having.]

When you miss someone, talking to them helps. Even if they can't talk back.

[And sometimes you hallucinate and they do talk back. But he'll leave that out.]

...Is it necessary to go to a grave to talk to someone you miss who is dead?

It's not necessary. Some people just feel a closer connection. But you can talk to them anywhere. If you have someone you want to talk to, go ahead and try it wherever you are. I'm sure they'll hear you if they can still listen.

Yeah. I think that's what she wanted you to do. It might be important to let her be at piece in that data ghost collective.
