Statement: Unusual sounds have been observed when a listening device (stethoscope) is used to listen to walls and doors in Norfinbury.

Hypothesis: Robot spiders utilize the vents for transportation and might be observed by auditory means.

Materials:
Stethoscope
Buildings
[An image of the stethoscope is attached; it looks like she set it on the floor of a building to take the photograph.]

Procedure:
With ear pieces in ears, place flat part of stethoscope against wall of building. Remain still and quiet while listening; listen for several minutes. Repeat for each building visited.

[The data that follow faithfully document the houses according to their numbers on House's map, though there are a few instances when she is not entirely sure as to which house she was in at the time. She has done her best.]

Data:
Building 86:
Two-story house that is warm at night but has no furniture.
Listened to window during announced maintenance period.
Faint sound of a slow heartbeat observed. Type of heartbeat unidentifiable.

Building 105:
House consisting of a single large room with sealed door and drawing of a penis.
Listened to sealed door.
Unnatural humming sound observed.

Building 19:
House with water damage. Large sinkhole in kitchen floor.
Listened to inner wall of parlor immediately following lockdown.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 18:
Two-story house filled with interlocking image puzzles.
Briefly listened to inner wall of parlor during daytime.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 10:
Three-room remains of house with cages containing remains of rodents and snake.
Listened to inner wall of parlor immediately following lockdown.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 27:
Two-story house, lower floor flooded with stagnant water.
Listened to inner wall of upstairs room immediately following lockdown.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 43:
School building.
Briefly listened to inner wall of cafeteria during daytime.
Loud sound of rushing water observed, followed by a human-like scream. Temporary hearing loss experienced for remainder of afternoon.

Building 46:
Small shed containing child-sized equipment of undetermined purpose.
Listened to inner wall immediately following lockdown.
No sounds observed due to hearing loss.
Listened to inner wall late in evening.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 53:
Formerly two-story house with second story collapsed.
Listened to inner wall of parlor immediately following lockdown.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 52:
Two-room remains of house with hot water plumbing.
Listened to inner wall of closet immediately following lockdown.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 65:
Two story house with pile of dolls.
Listened to inner wall of parlor immediately following lockdown.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 73:
House with inaccessible ground floor; second floor accessed by ladder.
Listened to inner wall of upstairs room during daytime.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Building 80:
Two story house with dark colored interior.
Listened to inner wall of parlor immediately following lockdown.
Faint sound of distant rushing water observed.

Conclusions:
Previous observations of unexplained phenomena in school in addition to distinction between sounds heard in school and houses indicates the school is a focal point.
Rushing water heard in all buildings observed; several buildings flooded. Loud rushing water and distressed scream under school indicate imminent flooding of school.
Water forms a spiral when entering a drain.
The unseen water is the spiral.
Dig deep to rushing water under school, drain under school is the center, the center is the key.

Statement: According to hotstud_xxx static electricity is generated when electrons are transferred from one object to another. An object with an excess of electrons is "negatively charged"; an object with a deficit of electrons is "positively charged." Objects with opposite charges are attracted to one another.

Hypothesis: Rubbing one object against another will transfer electrons and create reciprocal positive and negative charges on those objects, which will cause the objects to be attracted to one another.

Materials:
Woven cloth
Wool cloth
Leather
Fake cat
Paper
Wax candle

Procedure:
Rub Object A rapidly against Object B five (5) times.
Hold Objects A and B near each other.
Observe whether Objects A and B appear to be attracted to one another.
Rub Object A rapidly against Object B twenty (20) times.
Hold Objects A and B near each other.
Observe whether Objects A and B appear to be attracted to one another.

Data:
Set 1:
Object A: Woven cloth
Object B: Wool cloth
Result 1: Minimal attraction
Result 2: Minimal attraction
Observation: Crackling sounds heard during rubbing process

[And so it continues with various combinations of objects, all tediously faithfully documented. She must have spent a significant amount of time rubbing things together in order to gather all these vital data. The "fake cat" seems to garner the best results, and she abandons the systematic approach to instead document the process of rubbing said fake cat against walls, floor, and various fixtures of what House might deduce is a grocery store based on her descriptions.

That set of data ends with the following:
]

OBSERVATION: Following experiment with Set 15, a minuscule bolt of lightning was observed to arch between the fake cat and the wool coat.

Hypothesis 2: Two objects with significant opposite charges will equalize those charges through a transfer of electric energy.

Materials:
Fake cat
Woven cloth

Procedure:
Rub fake cat rapidly against cloth many times.
Lightly touch fake cat to cloth.

Data:
Attempt 1: Fake cat touched gently to cloth following rubbing process. Minuscule lightning bolt not observed.
Attempt 2: Fake cat held near cloth following rubbing process. Minuscule lightning bolt not observed.
Attempt 3: Fake cat rubbed lightly against cloth...

[And on and on. She is eventually able to produce another spark, no doubt to her profound delight. And somehow -- possibly through a little padding, possibly through tricks of formatting, the report comes out to precisely five pages in length, double spaced.]

Exposure effects: Obsession 1 (stuffed animals);
Death effect: Loss of temperance (eats and drinks anything available) - days 430 to 440.
Beacon: On as of day 331

Injuries and Scars:

  • Amputated hand as of day 267:
    • Doctor Watson performed an amputation of Ecks's right hand due to severe injuries sustained on night 254 via static blood splatter
    • The site of the amputation can be expected to take 1 to 2 months to properly heal; under normal circumstances she would be kept in hospital for around 2 weeks. The site should be more or less healed as of around day 330.
  • Disappeared flesh due to static blood splatter on night 254:
    • "Droplets" of static that splattered over the front of her body left superficial skin loss injuries to her torso, arms, and face, with a few outlying injuries to her legs as well. Marks visible while she's dressed are minimal, though there are a few small ones on her face and a slightly bigger one near her hairline. These have healed over and left some scarring.
  • Burns sustained on day 202: a ring of first and second degree burns around her neck, since healed via death and revival. A ring of discolored skin all around her neck remains; it is particularly noticeable on her throat.
  • Stab wound to shoulder: long since healed via revival, leaving a scar. Sustained in a fight with Royce.

Descriptions of violence and themes of body horror may come up casually in IC conversations with Ecks, as well as in ooc descriptions. I do mark tags with CWs as they come up, but please let me know here if you want me to avoid tagging your character(s) with those things, or if you want to opt out of character interactions in general.
