That is good. I do not think you would have lived after the things they did to all of you. Doctor Watson has already seen my hand last night and we are returning to Hsiaoke Pass.

[She pauses briefly, some hint of something flickering behind her eyes, though her tone and expression don't shift.]

He thinks my hand might need to be removed.

Oh. I'm sorry. [ He can't help but feel somewhat for that. If he'd been better about incapacitating the cloaked figure, or more insistent that Ecks stay away while he handled it, then maybe she wouldn't be in this position.

He looks away, briefly, before continuing. ]

The loss of a hand is... significant, but nothing that can't be overcome. It will be difficult, but I think you'll be okay.

[Conversely, if she'd done a better job killing it, she'd have died been able to prevent it from killing him.]

I do not want to not have a hand, but I would rather not have a hand than die of sepsis. Sepsis has been explained to me and it sounds like a very bad way to die.

Yes. From what I understand it's one of the worse ways to go. Drawn out and painful. This will be better.

I'm sorry that it came to this. I should've been able to... [ Stop the cloaked figure, survive its attack, protect Ecks. ] ...do something. [ Do anything. ]

I did not die. You died. I should have been able to stop you from dying.

[ Castiel is self-aware enough to realize that they could be going in circles all day if they keep this up, at least. ]

It went poorly for both of us. What matters is that we're both alive now, and we can vow to do better next time, if there is one. I hope there isn't. With luck, this will be over soon.

I do not want a next time. I am not going to smash my tablet again. Both times I smashed my tablet the end results were undesirable.

I meant in terms of any future violent altercation, whether it's related to the tablets or not, but you're right. I... don't think that was a good idea. I'm not sure what it accomplished, other than causing a great number of deaths and a lot of pain.

Doctor House thought we learned enough things from it, but that was when Doctor House was insane. Doctor Watson made a list of things we learned from it but I do not think that learning those things was justification for how many people died.

I'm not even sure what we learned. [ He'd been sort of... Jimmy, at the time when everyone was giving summaries, and then he'd been a captive of the cult of the prophet. ]

Has anyone found a use for the chips Davesprite and John Watson were able to retrieve?

I'll consult with House once it's clear that he's recovering from his ordeal. He had it worse than most of us, but he is... resilient. I have faith that he'll be well soon, or as close to being well as any of us can be.

Maybe. He is mostly behaving normally but none of you are behaving entirely normally after what happened.

It was... difficult for everyone. You witnessed it, or at least some of it. I'm sure you understand.

We'll endure. Or we won't. Time will tell.

Yes. I watched. I was very angry at first and I wanted to murder the people who did it, but I understand now that they did not choose to do it.

Being cut open is very hard but you can live afterwards. I understand this. I want you to understand this.
